WIC Qualified Nutritionist

Catholic Charities of WNY is seeking a qualified Nutritionist to join our team. As a key member of our WIC program, you will work closely with staff to ensure smooth clinic operations and provide exceptional customer service to our participants.

• Administer the nutrition-related components of the WIC program, following NYS Department of Health WIC Program Manual policies and procedures.
• Determine participant medical and nutritional eligibility.
• Provide participant-centered customer service, enrolling participants, completing nutritional assessments, and determining nutrition risk.
• Prescribe, tailor, authorize, issue, and reissue food packages, documenting nutrition services provided.
• Review and approve formula requests, consulting with Health Care Providers as needed.
• Conduct nutrition risk assessments, identifying high-risk participants and developing care plans.
• Coordinate nutrition education, including breastfeeding promotion and support, responsive to participant needs and interests.
• Refer participants to other health-related and social services as necessary.
• Track participants' progress, documenting outcomes and ensuring efficient clinic flow.

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) or Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Nutrition.
• Basic computer skills and reliable transportation for travel to other WIC sites.
