PACU Nurse PRN Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a PACU Nurse PRN at TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and provide exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Receives post-surgical report from CRNA and circulator, including airway patency, patient vital signs during procedure, type of anesthesia used, dressings, drains, and fluid intake/output.
  • Maintenance of post-operative drains including JP, Hemovac, Pleurovac, and foley catheters.
  • Maintenance of patient airway, including oral airways, nasal airways, and ETT.
  • Assess and treat pain based on parameters given by physician ordering pain medication, be alert for signs of overmedication and or anaphylaxis.
  • Provides updates to appropriate individuals identified by the patient.
  • Oversees quality assurance activities, and communicating any concerns to the physician.

Requirements:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse - Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with current TN RN licensure or compact licensure
  • 1 year of ICU, ER, or PACU experience required
