About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Polymer Chemist to join our R&D team at Verdox, Inc. based in Boston. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and synthesizing polymers with specific electrochemical and physico-chemical properties.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design and synthesize novel polymers using various polymerizations, backbones, and purification techniques.
  • Examine and develop diverse polymer chemistry to meet the company's research goals.
  • Develop and optimize synthetic protocols for cost-effective polymer synthesis and purification at the multi-kilogram scale.
  • Perform physical, chemical, and electrochemical characterization of monomers and polymers.
  • Oversee quality control of polymer products.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • PhD in Synthetic/Organic/Polymer Chemistry or equivalent, with experience in polymer synthesis, purification, and physical characterization.
  • Strong knowledge of organic synthesis, including multistep synthesis and Schlenk line techniques.
  • Experience with polymer characterization techniques, such as NMR, GPC, GC/LC-MS, and FT-IR.
  • Familiarity with purification techniques and scale-up processes.
  • Proficiency in software tools like ChemDraw and NMR analysis software.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
