Position Overview
The Gas Power Services Applications Engineer will be responsible for managing Inquiry To Order (ITO) activities within the Gas Power Services Complex team. This role focuses on generating proposals and developing Technical Application Guidelines (TAG) globally, while ensuring consistency and adherence to common global processes for project execution within the Complex projects sector.
Key Responsibilities
The Applications Engineer will undertake the following duties:
- Provide technical leadership and devise innovative solutions during the Inquiry To Order (ITO) phase, collaborating closely with commercial and sales teams.
- Conduct thorough technical analyses to define and optimize product offerings, considering scope, timelines, industrial frameworks, costs, and compliance with internal policies.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics and customer economic value to inform competitive bidding strategies.
- Work in partnership with design Centers of Excellence (COE) to enhance knowledge of plant, system, and equipment performance following upgrades.
- Document technical specifications and cost elements for CM&U upgrades, tailoring product customization to meet specific client requirements.
- Mentor junior Applications Engineers, fostering growth in both technical expertise and business insight.
- Manage relevant Technical Application Guidelines (TAG) to facilitate accurate and timely proposal development.
- Exhibit a deep understanding of key business drivers and their role in supporting proposal generation.
- Demonstrate the ability to operate autonomously within a defined framework and lead fellow contributors.
- Address complex issues requiring advanced technical knowledge and sound judgment, following established procedures.
- Collaborate with supporting teams, such as OTR, Design COEs, Commercial Operations, and Sales, to create and implement effective solutions for clients.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Significant engineering experience equivalent to a Master's degree in a related Mechanical field.
- Advanced knowledge of Inquiry To Order (ITO) processes.
