Job Overview

Position Summary

The role involves performing various labor tasks associated with bridge construction, including demolition, substructure, and superstructure work utilizing a range of tools. The work schedule typically spans Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consistently attend work as scheduled
  • Maintain positive relationships with team members
  • Adhere to company policies and instructions
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues
  • Utilize and maintain tools, equipment, and materials properly

Specific Tasks

  • Conduct general excavation and leveling with tools such as shovels, picks, tampers, or jackhammers
  • Align, position, and secure reinforcing steel of various dimensions
  • Vibrate concrete within forms
  • Set beams, tie rebar, and strip decks
  • Transport lumber, plywood, reinforcing steel, and other materials
  • Pour and level concrete
  • Read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets and container labels
  • Identify and report safety concerns to management promptly
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal vision and hearing range (with correction)
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Capability to walk on uneven surfaces, stand, climb, bend, kneel, reach, lift, and balance
  • Regularly lift up to 75 pounds
  • Work safely in various weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, ice, mud, and heat
