Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform econometric evaluations of financial and economic datasets to uncover trends, correlations, and patterns that are pertinent to the county's fiscal management.

2. Design and execute econometric models to project revenues, expenditures, and other financial metrics essential for the county's budgeting process.

3. Collaborate with internal departments to initiate and carry out research projects aimed at understanding the influence of various economic factors on the county's financial outcomes.

4. Provide analytical assistance in assessing the success of fiscal policies, tax strategies, and other financial initiatives undertaken by the county.

5. Generate reports, presentations, and other forms of communication to present econometric insights and recommendations to key stakeholders, including county officials and policymakers.

6. Remain updated on significant economic and financial trends at local, regional, and national levels to support informed decision-making and ensure the county adapts to evolving economic conditions.

7. Utilize statistical software and econometric tools to perform analyses, manage data, and effectively visualize results.

Qualifications:

1. Master's or Ph.D. degree in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, or a related discipline with a strong focus on econometric methodologies and quantitative analysis.

2. Demonstrated experience in applying econometric methods to real-world economic and financial challenges, ideally within a governmental or public sector context.

3. Proficiency in statistical software such as R, Python, SAS, or STATA, with the capability to write and troubleshoot code for data manipulation, estimation, and visualization.

4. Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail, with the capacity to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

5. Comprehensive understanding of economic principles, financial markets, and public finance, with the ability to apply theoretical concepts to practical scenarios.

6. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects concurrently while adhering to deadlines and maintaining precision.

7. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal oversight.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Previous experience in a county or municipal government role, particularly in finance or treasury-related functions.

2. Familiarity with local tax regulations, revenue forecasting techniques, and budgeting processes.

3. Experience with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and spatial econometrics for analyzing geographically distributed data would be beneficial.

4. Knowledge of database management systems and SQL for accessing, querying, and manipulating extensive datasets.
