Position Overview
The Reliability Civil Engineer applies engineering principles and methodologies to identify and resolve issues related to routine operations. This role involves working within a process environment to analyze data, diagnose problems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to devise effective solutions.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in civil/structural design, maintenance, or reliability within a refinery or similar environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with all management levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP software.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License is highly desirable.
- Experience in structural design, repairs, and industrial structures is preferred.
- Familiarity with updating specifications in accordance with relevant codes and standards is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and maintain productivity without constant oversight.
- Willingness to learn and utilize various engineering design and analysis software.
- A valid Driver's License is required.
- Eligibility Requirements: Compliance with the Maritime Transportation Security Act is necessary for unescorted access to regulated facilities.
- Conduct engineering feasibility studies and design projects within the discipline.
- Perform economic analyses and root cause failure analyses for equipment or structures.
- Develop scopes of work for new installations, repairs, or replacements of equipment.
- Evaluate and select materials and equipment based on established specifications.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and other departments to enhance reliability and finalize project scopes.
- Formulate solutions to specific engineering problems and execute routine tasks.
- Support various Capital Projects from initial conception through to construction.
- Draft scopes of work for maintenance tasks during routine operations and shutdowns.
- Ensure all design modifications adhere to refinery specifications and Management of Change (MOC) protocols.
