CDR Companies, a prominent national engineering and emergency management consulting firm, is currently seeking experienced Senior Construction Engineering Inspectors for projects throughout Florida.

This role entails executing intricate technical tasks related to field surveying and construction layout, performing engineering calculations, inspecting construction activities, and conducting field assessments. The Senior Inspector will also oversee and guide junior inspectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout.
  • Perform engineering computations, inspect construction work, and conduct field tests.
  • Supervise and manage junior inspectors.
  • Prepare and submit daily reports in compliance with CDR Companies' and project owner’s standards.
  • Ensure adherence to the contractor's health and safety protocols.
  • Verify compliance with contract documents by the contractor.
  • Inspect delivered materials for conformity with contract specifications.
  • Assess contractor's layout for accuracy.

Additional Duties:

  • Travel as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities or as directed by management.
  • Perform other related tasks as required by the position.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English, with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for length, area, and volume.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in construction inspection, including two (2) years in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection, excluding Complex Category 2 (CC2) bridge structures.
  • Experience with FDOT is preferred.
  • A Civil Engineering degree with one (1) year of road and bridge CEI experience may substitute for the four (4) years of experience required.
