Program Overview

Our 12-month Nurse Residency program is designed to facilitate your progress from student to professional nurse through education, mentorship, and peer support. You will have the opportunity to develop the clinical judgment, communication skills, and professional commitment necessary to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. He/she functions within the framework of the organization's policies and procedures and demonstrates professional growth and accountability.

The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff, and providing quality nursing care.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include leadership skills, effective communication skills, initiative, independent judgment, and the ability to handle stressful environments.
