Job Overview

We offer a Sign-On Bonus of up to $5,000, commensurate with experience. The first installment will be provided upon commencement of employment, with a second payment after six months of satisfactory service.

Position Summary

The Hydrocarbon Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the inspection and testing of bulk liquid or gaseous hydrocarbon and chemical cargoes. This includes supervising services such as gauging, sampling, and reconciling transfers between shore tanks, barges, or ships.

The role requires adherence to Client standards, SGS Operational Excellence practices, and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct physical sampling, measurement, and temperature assessment of vessel and shore tanks using various methods as per company and American Petroleum Institute (API) guidelines.

- Ensure compliance with safety standards while performing tasks efficiently, following established technical processes and methodologies.

- Calculate and report the quantities of bulk liquid or gaseous hydrocarbons transferred, ensuring complete reconciliation.

- Complete all necessary documentation using SGS proprietary systems such as the Ship Inspection Report (SIR) and/or Site Acceptance Test (SAT).

- Collaborate effectively with client representatives, customs officials, vessel personnel, government agents, and shore facility staff.

- Maintain ongoing communication with the business unit office regarding job status, issues, and concerns.

- Stay informed and comply with the latest industry standards, client requirements, and SGS internal policies and procedures.

- Uphold the highest ethical standards in accordance with the SGS Code of Integrity, including strict adherence to all safety practices.

- Assist with additional branch responsibilities related to administrative support and facility maintenance.

- Perform other assigned duties as required.
