Catholic Health Initiatives is actively seeking a highly skilled infectious disease physician to join our esteemed team at Creighton University Medical Center Bergan Mercy hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for delivering exceptional patient care, teaching and mentoring multiple levels of learners, and leading a nationally recognized hospital epidemiology program.

  • Opportunity to work with an infection prevention team in an academic medical facility
  • Collaboration with regional and national experts to advance evidence-based practices
  • Full spectrum of adult infectious disease, including HIV, hepatitis B, C, sexually transmissible infections, antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention, orthopedic ID, public health advocacy, and medical education
  • Diverse interests in our growing, well-respected ID group (14 ID physicians and 10 advanced practice providers)
  • Academic appointment with Creighton University School of Medicine, rank commensurate with level of experience

About the Role:

  • Patient Care: Diagnose and treat various medical conditions, develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, conduct thorough medical examinations and histories
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, provide clear and concise medical information, foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, document medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans, ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations
  • Diagnostic Procedures: Order and interpret diagnostic tests, perform procedures as needed, collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals, participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions, provide consultative services to other healthcare providers
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement, implement changes to enhance patient care and safety
  • Compliance: Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice, stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards
  • Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices, participate in ongoing medical education and training, contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines

Requirements:

  • American Board Certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
  • A valid and unrestricted state medical license or license-eligible

Salary Range: $126.44 - $151.92 per hour
