Responsibilities:
The HVAC Installation Technician is tasked with the installation of HVAC systems, which includes the planning of roof penetrations, ductwork, and the arrangement of sheet metal fittings in accordance with customer specifications, relevant building codes, and appropriate piping practices.

  • Assists in HVAC construction projects by interpreting blueprints as required by the foreman to ensure timely and quality project completion.
  • Responsible for the layout of roof penetrations and ductwork, as well as the arrangement of sheet metal fittings as directed by the foreman.
  • Provides assistance to the Construction foreman as necessary on-site.
  • Supports project management by coordinating job schedules, including labor hours and material costs.
  • Undertakes additional duties and projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and completion of trade or technical school courses.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction sector, with hands-on field experience in commercial HVAC installation and significant market renovations.
  • Familiarity with UMC/SMACNA standards.
  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC installation products and tools.
  • Understanding of refrigeration systems.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints related to HVAC duct fittings.
  • Ability to perform duct welding and minor electrical installations.
  • Competence in sheet metal layout and fabrication, along with strong mechanical skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and capability to wire installations.
  • Understanding of carpentry.
  • Familiarity with refrigeration systems and piping.
  • Ability to read blueprints concerning refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Skills to install evaporator coils and overhead hangers.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools, with solid mechanical skills.
  • Awareness of job site safety protocols, with the ability to oversee work activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
