Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Personal Financial Counselor to provide expert financial guidance to military service members and their families at Keesler AFB, MS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive personal financial counseling services, including one-on-one consultations, group briefings, and referrals to external resources.
  • Collaborate with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure program effectiveness and alignment with installation needs.
  • Develop and disseminate financial education materials, including workshops and classes on various topics, such as budgeting, saving, and investing.
  • Utilize virtual counseling platforms and other electronic communication tools to provide remote support to service members and their families.
  • Manage duty-to-warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense protocols.
  • Participate in regular supervision, training, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance program effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as finance, economics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial counseling, with a focus on military or government settings.
  • Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) certification.
  • Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • Fluent English language skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
