Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled CVOR nurse who is also capable of floating to the general Operating Room when cardiovascular cases are not scheduled. This role requires flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts and shared on-call responsibilities. The shift starts at 0700 when there are no heart surgeries scheduled and at 0600 for CABG procedures. Call duties are divided with another CVOR nurse, resulting in approximately a 50% split.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients to identify their mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and their families.
- Utilize clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient conditions.
- Foster a positive workplace environment by managing conflicts through professional communication.
- Ensure compliance with Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
Qualifications:
We welcome applications from experienced CVOR nurses, regardless of their level of experience.
Unit Specific Information:
Flexibility in unit assignments is essential, including potential rotations through Intensive Care, Progressive Care, Cardiac Services, Interventional Imaging, and more. Relevant unit-specific certifications are considered an asset.
