Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Laundry Service Associate to join our team at the Hilton Garden Inn Covington/Mandeville.

About the Job

This is an entry-level position with no prior experience required. As a Laundry Service Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and comfort of our guests' linens.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort all stained or damaged items and determine their status for rewash or discard; maintain a continuous inventory of discarded items.
  • Operate the ironing and folding machines according to specifications while processing cleaned articles through the machines.
  • Fold cleaned articles and stack them into designated amounts by type and size; place stacks in specified areas of distribution.
  • Remove lint and debris from dryer filters as specified in departmental procedures.
  • Use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
  • Check the working condition and cleanliness of laundry machinery.
  • Monitor usage of chemicals and water to maximize consumption.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout the shift.
  • Restock work areas for the next shift as assigned.
  • Turn in all lost and found items and guest room keys.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Follow safety and security procedures and rules.
  • Know department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Utilize protective equipment.
  • Report unsafe conditions to management.
  • Report accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage, or loss to management.
  • Provide a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
  • All team members must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards outlined in the team member handbook).
  • Perform any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.
  • Assist other Housekeeping Personnel when needed.
