Job Description

At Maxair Mechanical LLC, we are seeking a skilled Service Sheet Metal Technician to join our team. As a Service Sheet Metal Technician, you will be responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned work orders, ensuring customer satisfaction by installing ductwork and components for HVAC and sheet metal projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation of ductwork, HVAC equipment, and devices, including material take-off and field layout.
  • Purchase required materials from the supply house, using the Maxair PO system, and submit weekly receipts.
  • Complete all required electronic paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicate regularly with the Maxair dispatcher to receive daily assignments and report completion.
  • Communicate regularly with assigned Area Team Leaders/Area Supervisors/Area Managers with any technical or customer issues.
  • Maintain the equipment and inventory in your truck for maximum efficiency.
  • Display team effort and dedication to customers by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and participate in a drug-free workplace.
  • Possess a clean driving record and a current driver's license.
  • Strong steady work history with 3+ years minimum as a Commercial sheet metal technician.
  • Local Union 85 membership as Apprentice, Tradesman, or Journeyman (or the qualifications, willingness, and ability to join).
  • Working proficiency with handheld computers (i.e., Smartphone, iPad).

Work Environment:

The Service Sheet Metal Technician works mostly in commercial buildings, office buildings, schools, hospitals, government buildings, and factories. The worksites may be very hot or cold due to the heating and cooling systems that are to be repaired may not be working properly and because some parts of these systems are located outdoors.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.
