Job Description

Hoover & Strong, a family-owned jewelry manufacturer and refiner, seeks a Staff Accountant to join their team. As a key member of the accounting department, you will be responsible for recording financial transactions, analyzing financial information, and preparing reports with a focus on high-value inventory and fixed assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Update reports and post transactions for operating bank accounts
  • Post daily transactions for Sales, A/R, and Refining Lots to the General Ledger
  • Assist customers with account inquiries via phone as needed
  • Post weekly payroll transactions to General Ledger
  • Prepare reconciliations of sales, product purchases, and accruals for precious metal
  • Process Refining payments as ACHs
  • Maintain perpetual inventory ledger
  • Monitor all leased metal balances & lease reporting and compliance
  • Manage & purchase metal from outside vendors
  • Assist with the transition from legacy system to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central to ensure accurate inventory counts both book and physical

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' experience in accounting required; exposure to manufacturing or production environment preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Excel is required
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a timely and independent manner
  • Self-starter with the ability to complete projects from problem identification to solution implementation
  • Good communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work well with others in fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • All candidates must pass an extensive background check, Credit, Criminal and Drug Screen
