Title: Bilingual Speech-Language Therapist

Reporting To: Clinical Director

Location: Outpatient Center

Work Schedule: Tuesday to Friday (10am – 7pm) and Saturday (8:30am – 3:30pm)

This is NOT a Clinical Fellowship Position

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement programs to enhance communication abilities.
  • Evaluate communication (speech and language) skills through screenings and assessments.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations in specific areas of need.
  • Facilitate therapy sessions in alignment with Individual Educational Programs and directives from other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the formulation of Individual Educational Programs and Accommodation Plans.
  • Oversee the re-evaluation of classified students as per state regulations.
  • Engage in meetings regarding individual students when necessary.
  • Consult with parents, students, Child Study Team members, and other staff.
  • Collaborate with community organizations concerned with children's speech-language health.
  • Support student growth and progress towards therapy objectives.
  • Identify students at risk for future communication issues.
  • Maintain daily documentation of services and outcomes.
  • Manage caseloads, service delivery, and scheduling.
  • Provide both small group and individual therapy tailored to client needs.
  • Work collaboratively with professionals, families, and educators.

Required Competencies:

  • Understanding of fine motor, visual/perceptual-motor, sensorimotor, and sensory integration challenges.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to comply with federal and state licensure and certification standards.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Flexibility and creativity in approach.
  • Robust diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities.
  • Awareness of the need to engage with culturally diverse communities.
  • Knowledge of best practices and therapy modalities in the field.
  • Experience in assessment evaluation, scoring, and interpretation.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • State licensure and ASHA Certification in good standing.
  • Experience in the field of speech-language pathology.
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., evenings and weekends, if necessary).
  • Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency - required.
  • Pediatric experience preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Employees in this role are not expected to encounter blood-borne pathogens.
  • Physical Demands - Heavy work: Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
