Job Summary

This role involves supporting the efficient operation of the plant by maintaining all production tooling. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing, tear-down, and rework of existing tools, as well as managing a mold database, tracking time and updates, and maintaining a spare parts list. Additionally, they will be expected to communicate effectively with customers, engineering, manufacturing, and quality departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team and manage rebuild/repairs using in-house resources
  • Communicate effectively with customers, engineering, manufacturing, and quality departments
  • Maintain all molds in a production-ready state
  • Mentor less experienced employees on the job
  • Repair, clean, service, and perform insert changes on all molds
  • Wire hot runners, hot sprue, thermocouples, and replace hot runner components
  • Wire limit switches
  • Clean, lubricate, and polish
  • Complete job assignments in a timely manner
  • Perform blue and spot shutoffs in and out of the machine
  • Make small parts in a manual lathe, milling machine, and surface grinder
  • TIG weld
  • Rebuild and replace core pull hydraulic cylinders
  • Read blueprints and part prints
  • Perform skilled fitting of tooling components
