About the Job:
The Construction Superintendent I is a key role in our construction team, responsible for supervising construction projects and directing crew activities. This position involves managing crew members, conducting site inspections, and providing training and technical support. To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing circumstances.
Responsibilities:
- Crew Management: Supervise and manage construction crews, delegating tasks and ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Job Site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Employee Development: Provide training and technical support to crew members, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least eight years of increasingly responsible construction experience, including two years of lead experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver's license and high school diploma or equivalent are also required. Additionally, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing circumstances, are essential.
Physical Demands:
This position requires heavy physical activity, including balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, driving, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. You may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
