We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team at JBA International. The ideal candidate will support our attorneys in managing personal injury cases from inception through settlement or trial.
Key Responsibilities- Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing a caseload of personal injury cases, including automobile accidents, premises liability, and other tort claims.
- Client Communication: Communicate with clients, providing case updates, answering questions, and relaying information between clients and attorneys.
- Document Preparation: Draft and file legal documents such as complaints, motions, subpoenas, and settlement demands. Prepare discovery responses and requests.
- Investigation: Gather medical records, police reports, photographs, and other essential documentation. Assist in the investigation of claims and factual development of cases.
- Trial Preparation: Organize exhibits, witness lists, and other materials for trials. Assist attorneys in preparation for depositions and hearings.
- Settlement Negotiations: Assist in calculating damages, preparing demand packages, and communicating with insurance adjusters during settlement negotiations.
- Calendaring and Scheduling: Maintain attorney calendars, schedule client meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
- Legal Research: Conduct legal research to support case development and strategy.
- Education: Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years working as a paralegal in personal injury law.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal case management software, and e-filing procedures.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
