SalaryThe estimated salary for this position starts at $25,500 per year, based on industry standards and requirements. However, compensation decisions are dependent on individual qualifications and experience, as well as external market conditions.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse Yard Spotter to join our team. As a Warehouse Yard Spotter, you will be responsible for performing a complete safety and mechanical check of the Yard truck and trailers to be moved. This includes climbing up into cab, driving to trailers, backing up to the trailer, raising the 5th wheel, making connections, climbing down to remove the wheel chock, and climbing up into cab and driving away.
You will also be responsible for backing the trailer into the designed spot, disconnecting the trailer, installing chocks, and driving a forklift to make up cross dock loads. Additionally, you may be required to perform housekeeping duties, keep floors clean, and maintain work areas neat and clean.
This role requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent, as well as CDL A Certification with Hazmat and Doubles endorsements. You must have a minimum of 1 year of driving experience with tractor/trailer combinations and knowledge of DOT regulations on equipment standards and inspections.
