The Inspector will be assigned to a variety of industrial projects related to vendor/shop inspections or vendor surveillance, including QAQC inspections during the fabrication of various equipment and machines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Visual/physical inspection of industrial equipment and materials
- Witness of testing and review of QA/QC documentation, including MTRs
- Issuing reports of findings within a specific time limit
Candidates must be qualified and certified to meet applicable Industrial Standards and codes. A minimum of 3 years' experience in fabrication inspection of fixed and/or rotating machinery and equipment is required.
Candidates will be familiar with the welding process and type of equipment being used on the project, including GTAW, FCAW, GMAW, PAW, SMAW, and SAW. Experience with mechanical testing of welds, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs), Procedure Qualification Reports (PQRs), and Welder Performance Qualifications in accordance with ASME Section V and Section IX is also necessary.
Candidates must be certified as an American Welding Society CWI, CSA W178.2 (Level 2 or 3), CSWIP 3.1 certified welding inspector, or Company approved equivalent. Proficiency in interpretation of fabrication drawings and excellent understanding of welding, weld symbols, and weld inspection per AWS D1 is required.
