The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly skilled Energy Assistance Worker to join our team at the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Helpline. As an Energy Assistance Worker, you will play a critical role in assessing information, applying policies and procedures, and determining eligibility for LIHEAP benefits.
Key Responsibilities- Employ strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with applicants and accurately apply policies and procedures.
- Handle calls and emails, providing objective and empathetic support to applicants.
- Guide callers in navigating the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Access to Social Services (COMPASS) website or mobile app.
- Connect citizens with additional community resources that may provide support or enhance their LIHEAP benefits.
- Two years of experience in general office work, including interviewing the public.
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Meet the PA residency requirement.
- Be able to perform essential job functions.
