Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician III to join our team at Health First. As a Pharmacy Technician III, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care and ensuring the efficient operation of our pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality/No Harm:
    • Fills physician orders or stock requisitions accurately and efficiently.
    • Prepares intravenous admixtures or other sterile products with precision and attention to detail.
    • Replenishes medications in a timely manner to ensure patient needs are met.
    • Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date, minimizing waste and ensuring patient safety.
    • Attends pharmacy staff meetings and stays informed about important updates and communications.
    • Participates in orientation, education, and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
    • Maintains patient and department/hospital confidentiality at all times.
    • Maintains Technician Registration and stays up-to-date with regulatory requirements.
    • Generates reports, pick lists, and labels as required to support pharmacy operations.
    • Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation accurately and efficiently.
    • Files documentation in appropriate locations to ensure easy access and retrieval.
    • Collects data, conducts quality monitors, and completes documentation as assigned to support quality improvement initiatives.
    • Maintains bar-code database and packages bar code medications accurately.
    • Effectively and accurately inputs Med Rec data into OMR to support patient care.
  • Stewardship:
    • Enters charges and credits for patient medications accurately and efficiently.
    • Ensures supplies and pharmacy stock are used appropriately to limit waste and minimize costs.
    • Identifies opportunities to reduce waste and provide cost savings, supporting the hospital's stewardship goals.
  • Customer Experience:
    • Answers the telephone, identifying self and department, and directs calls to appropriate personnel.
    • Answers requests at the window, providing excellent customer service and support.
    • Organizes and prioritizes work assignments to ensure efficient and effective use of time.
    • Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills, providing clear and concise information to patients and colleagues.
    • Keeps pharmacy areas clean, neat, and well organized, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
    • Keeps pharmacy equipment clean and well-maintained, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, supporting the pharmacy department's goals and objectives.
    • Maintains patient and Department/Hospital confidentiality at all times.
    • Onboards and trains new associates, providing support and guidance to ensure a smooth transition.
