Position Overview

As a key member of our Security team, the Security Enforcement Officer is responsible for maintaining a secure environment for all personnel and visitors.

Department: Security

Work Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours per week) - Evening Shift

Core Responsibilities

The Security Enforcement Officer will:

  • Conduct vigilant monitoring and respond promptly to any security threats or incidents.
  • Investigate and document security occurrences, ensuring thorough management of any hazards.
  • Stay informed and adhere to established protocols regarding alarms and emergency preparedness, including facilitating drills and simulations.
  • Assist staff and visitors by providing information that promotes safety and security.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and judicial systems as necessary.
  • Exercise the authority to make arrests for both felonies and misdemeanors in accordance with applicable laws.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A certification in Peace Officer training prior to employment or transfer.
  • A valid Driver's License issued by the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
  • A Michigan Concealed Pistol License.
  • Preferred: BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Preferred: Background in Law Enforcement or Security Professional certification.

Educational Background

Applicants should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or
  • An Associate's or Technical degree, or
  • A minimum of 4 years of applicable job-specific experience.
