We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at Millennium Health. As a key member of our laboratory, you will be responsible for collecting patient urine and/or oral fluid specimens, processing and packaging collections, and serving as an intermediary between healthcare providers and our laboratory.
Key Responsibilities- Collect patient specimens in a professional and respectful manner
- Process and package collections for shipping to our laboratory
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients to ensure accurate and timely specimen collection
- Record patient information, physician order details, and laboratory information in our electronic system
- Resolve specimen concerns and issues with billing or patient information
- Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite
- Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens when applicable
- 6+ months of experience as a phlebotomy specialist or 1+ years of experience in the medical field, directly supporting patients
- 2+ years of customer service experience can be considered in place of medical experience
- Demonstrated ability to navigate electronic medical records and laboratory information systems
- Valid driver's license required
- Medical insurance/billing and/or familiarity with medications/diagnostic codes is a plus
- Ability to ensure HIPAA, HiTrust, Confidentiality and Compliance policy, procedures, and standards are always adhered to
- Ability to ensure administrative, physical and technical cyber security controls are always adhered to
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Physical requirements: sitting 90%, walking 5%, standing 5%, lifting up to 20 lbs
