Job Summary

We're seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team at HDR. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you'll have the opportunity to gain real-world experience on exciting projects, working under the guidance of a Professional Engineer. You'll be responsible for reviewing building mechanical documents, specifications, and equipment selections, as well as performing mechanical engineering calculations and connecting with recent college graduates and company leaders through mentoring and young professional programs.

Responsibilities
  • Review building mechanical documents, specifications, and equipment selections to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Perform mechanical engineering calculations to support project design and development.
  • Work under the guidance and direct supervision of a Professional Engineer to ensure high-quality results.
  • Connect with recent college graduates and company leaders through mentoring and young professional programs to build relationships and gain industry insights.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support project success.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Possess strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills and ability to learn company software and systems.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer 2+ years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
