Job Summary

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Shuttle Driver to transport staff to and from staff parking locations and work sites. This role requires operating a 15-passenger van, forklifts, and lift gate trucks as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport employees from parking areas to check-in spaces and specific work locations.
  • Assist passengers boarding and departing the van as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the van, including checking oil, gas, and tires.
  • Inspect the van for mechanical conditions affecting safety and report major defects.
  • Ensure vehicles are clean and well-maintained and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Practice safe driving procedures at all times and adhere to LAPA parking staff and LADOT regulations.
  • Operate other automotive equipment to pick up and deliver supplies for Production needs.
  • Keep accurate time records and adhere to meal and rest period policies.
  • Assist other departments as needed and directed by a supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must have a valid Class A license or a valid Class C license with a passenger endorsement (P-Endorsement).
  • Must have valid Forklift Operation certification.
  • Have a clean driving record.
  • Existing knowledge of or ability to quickly learn parking policies and procedures, layout of the Bowl and surrounding areas.
  • Ability to work outside, bend, stand, and walk/run for up to the duration of the work shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for up to a couple of hours at a time during the work shift.
  • Dedication and commitment to engage in and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the staff, vendors, and surrounding community.
  • Secondary language fluency is a plus.

COVID-19 Workplace Safety Requirements

This position requires interacting with employees, patrons, vendors, and others who may or may not be vaccinated or recently tested. You will be required to wear personal protection equipment (PPE) required by the LA County Department of Public Health protocols and the LA Phil. You agree to comply at all times with the LA Phil's COVID-19 Prevention Plan, including testing and vaccination requirements.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the FCIHO.
