Youth Nutrition Program Educator

Position Overview:

The EFNEP Educator plays a vital role in promoting healthier lifestyles among youth and families. This position is part of the NC Cooperative Extension, focusing on delivering nutrition education to limited-resource populations.

Key Responsibilities:

The individual in this role will:

  • Recruit and engage adult and youth participants in nutrition programs.
  • Conduct educational visits in both home and group settings.
  • Teach essential nutrition principles and food preparation techniques.
  • Document and report program activities as required.
  • Market the program effectively within the community.
  • Collaborate with local agencies and Cooperative Extension staff.
  • Assist in securing resources for program delivery.
Program Guidance:

The EFNEP Educator will receive support from the District EFNEP Regional Nutrition Extension Associate and work closely with other agents to address community needs.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires travel within the county and state using a personal vehicle, with reimbursement provided.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum requirement. Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience working with limited-resource families.
  • Knowledge of community social service programs.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
Licensing:

A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are mandatory.

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
