Pharmacist Job Description

Weis Markets is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team. As a Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our customers by providing exceptional pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with the pharmacy manager to control inventories by tracking weekly sales and ordering pharmaceutical stock to meet customer demand and maximize profits.
  • Weigh, measure, mix drugs and other medical compounds, and fill bottles with the correct quantity and composition.
  • Provide advice to self-medicating patients and dispense non-prescription medications.
  • Maintain open communication with health and insurance professionals.
  • Perform patient immunizations on a regular basis.
  • In the absence of the Pharmacy Manager, schedule pharmacy associates, reward and recognize performance, discipline associates as required, and give out work assignments to effectively utilize skills and abilities while meeting company profit objectives.
  • Assist the manager with ongoing training and development of department personnel to improve performance, ensure continuous development, reduce turnover, and control labor costs.
  • Help control department expenses by monitoring and improving operations, ensuring labor goals are met, and reducing losses due to shrink.
  • Respond to customer complaints and questions in an efficient and courteous manner, providing effective counseling on prescription-related issues.
  • Identify areas to improve customer service and collaborate with the pharmacy manager to correct any deficiencies.
  • Maintain a safe, clean department through an effective housekeeping program to meet company, health department, and OSHA standards.
  • Ensure smooth function of the department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or Pharm D
  • State Pharmacist License
