Job Summary

A Steward is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas. This includes ensuring the proper storage and handling of china, glass, and silverware, as well as assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities
  • Approach all interactions with guests and colleagues in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance and adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
  • Comply with all hotel regulations and safety protocols.
  • Operate dish-washing equipment to ensure thorough cleaning and sanitation of china, glass, and silverware.
  • Replace clean items in their proper storage locations, minimizing breakage.
  • Wash pots, pans, and kitchen utensils according to proper procedures and store them in designated areas.
  • Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Empty garbage from Food and Beverage areas into the hotel dumpster.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the back dock and dumpster area.
  • Be familiar with all hotel policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining the order and cleanliness of all storage areas.
  • Assist with the set up and breakdown of the restaurant buffet as required.
  • Attend meetings as required by management.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
