Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Art Education Instructor to join our team at Clayton County Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching art concepts to students in a learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct students using various teaching methods, including lectures, audiovisual aids, demonstrations, and other materials to supplement presentations.
  • Assign lessons and correct homework, administer tests to evaluate student progress, and issue reports to inform parents of progress.
  • Maintain discipline in the classroom and supervise student behavior outside of the classroom.
  • Prepare course outlines and objectives according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences to review student progress, performance, and behavior problems.
  • Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Art Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred.
  • Certification by the State of Georgia in Education T-4 to T-7 as required by the GaPSC.
  • Field(s)/Endorsement(s): Art Education (P-12)
Work Environment

The Art Education Instructor will work in a normal classroom/school setting and must be able to stand and walk approximately seven to seven and one-half hours per day. Light duty includes sitting at a desk or table, intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping, and light lifting or carrying of 20 pounds or less.
