Leidos is in search of a Senior Systems Architect to enhance our expanding team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a diverse group of software developers, Subject Matter Experts, and analysts to refine and derive requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and articulate functional, system, and performance requirements.
  • Create various systems engineering documentation, including CONOPs and architecture diagrams.
  • Establish timelines for features and manage backlog grooming.
  • Draft and review technical documentation.
  • Lead project teams effectively.
  • Generate comprehensive status reports.
  • Assist in Operations & Maintenance (O&M) requirements and processes, including project planning, management, and risk mitigation.
  • Validate system designs against current implementations to assess performance relative to customer expectations.
  • Provide engineering expertise to modernize and transform existing and new data formats.
  • Support cross-directorate product teams to engage stakeholders in fulfilling assigned tasks.
  • Document data flow processes and designs in alignment with customer-driven data management standards.
  • Possess knowledge of the customer’s data lifecycle management processes.
  • Support an IT program encompassing multiple projects.
  • Deliver cloud-based systems and applications within the customer’s network environment.
  • Work with various storage systems, including block, object, SAN, and tape.
  • Demonstrate domain knowledge and hands-on experience in the customer’s mission environment.
  • Engage with the customer’s data processing file formats and types.
  • Work with the customer’s Big Data, data analytics, and cloud storage systems.
  • Utilize data-driven workflows effectively.
  • Understand customer data tagging, sanitization, and sharing protocols.
  • Engage with data routing services.
  • Familiarity with STE/STN compliance objectives is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-wide systems and infrastructure solutions.

Clearance Requirement: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph

Basic Qualifications:

A minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field from an accredited institution is essential. Alternatively, five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree. Experience in leading teams utilizing agile scrum methodologies for software development is preferred.

Additional Skills/Experience:

  • Proven team leadership capabilities.
  • Experience in planning and directing Systems Engineering initiatives.
  • Participation in Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities based on comprehensive evaluations.
  • Support for the planning and analysis of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process and other Government C&A processes.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Agile project management experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Project and/or Visio.
