This Pharmacy Technician role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy department. As an Intermediate Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical care to patients by performing various tasks such as nonsterile medication preparation, packaging, and labeling. You will also assist with medication filling, distribution, and other essential functions.

Your primary focus will be on maintaining a clean, organized, and adequately stocked work environment. This includes ensuring all medications are safely and securely stored according to relevant regulatory agencies. You will develop positive and productive relationships with colleagues and patients during the medication distribution process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Medication Preparation: Prepare and package medications for dispensing, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of medication stock levels, ensure timely ordering, and receive inventory shipments.
  • Patient Communication: Develop strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, resolving any queries or concerns regarding their medication.
  • Cash Handling: Process sales transactions using the cash register, following proper cash handling procedures.

Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program preferred.
  • Experience: At least two years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, or enrollment in good standing as a pharmacy student.
  • Skills: Proficiency in computer skills, ability to work accurately under pressure, and excellent customer service skills.
