As a Healthcare Security Specialist, your primary role will be to protect and oversee a prominent healthcare facility. You will be tasked with monitoring the premises and ensuring the safety of staff, patients, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include identifying and preventing suspicious activities, reporting incidents, and delivering exceptional customer service in a courteous and professional manner.
Key Duties:
- Maintain vigilance for indications of crime, disorder, hazards, and unusual behavior.
- Conduct patrols on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to identify unsafe conditions, security breaches, mechanical issues, and unauthorized access.
- Effectively de-escalate situations verbally and physically when necessary.
- Inspect security systems and fire safety equipment regularly.
- Facilitate the entry of members, visitors, and employees into the facility.
- Respond promptly to emergencies including fire, medical situations, bomb threats, flooding, elevator malfunctions, hazardous materials incidents, or severe weather.
- May involve escorting patients, monitoring patients, providing safety escorts, and assisting with the transport of deceased individuals to the morgue.
Qualifications:
- Experience in customer service, conflict resolution, or managing high-pressure situations is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed positions; 21 years or older for armed roles.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, or a minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience.
- Applicants will undergo a background check in compliance with all applicable laws. Criminal histories will be considered in accordance with legal standards.
- Drug screening will be conducted as permitted by law.
- Licensing may be required based on state and local regulations; a valid driver's license is necessary for driving roles.
- Post-offer, candidates must successfully complete training and obtain a Management of Aggressive Behavior certification.
