Job Title: Surgical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Assistant to join our team at TN Specialty Dental Services, PLLC.

Job Summary:

The Surgical Assistant will provide critical support to our dental team by assisting with surgical procedures, preparing equipment, and ensuring a smooth patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with surgical procedures, including monitoring sedated patients and preparing equipment.
  • Prepare all necessary instruments, materials, and equipment for use prior to patient arrival.
  • Escort patients to the operatory in a timely manner and help them feel comfortable before, during, and after treatment.
  • Stay in the operatory and interact with the patient until the doctor arrives, taking X-rays as needed or instructed.
  • Confirm medical history with patients and make necessary changes.
  • Assist the doctor with all dental treatments and procedures, accurately charting patient data in the record.
  • Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
  • Work with the Dental Treatment Coordinator to ensure patients are scheduled for proper treatment and the length of dental appointment is accurate.
  • Stock all operatories and designated sterilization areas, notifying the Lead Dental Assistant of materials that are running low.
  • Assist in daily and monthly maintenance of sterilization equipment, hand pieces, and other dental instruments.
  • Navigate software without assistance and aid the Lead RDA in training new staff members.
  • Represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner, maintaining regular attendance and adhering to assigned work schedules and office policies.
Requirements:
  • Maintain certification and/or license renewals as required by the state.
  • Excel in forward thinking to anticipate the needs of patients and the dental team.
  • May be required to travel between office locations, must be insurable by the company's insurance.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned by management.
  • Must be CPR Certified.
Salary:

$24.00 per hour
