Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medication Aide to join our team at UTMB Health. As a Certified Medication Aide, you will play a critical role in providing technical support to our healthcare professionals and ensuring the safe administration of medications to patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Distribute and document patients' medications from filled prescriptions, adhering to Title 40, Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 95.
  • Maintain drug room security, replace facility working drug stocks, and ensure the upkeep of facility drug room and pharmaceutical equipment.
  • Enter medication compliance into the pharmacy computer system.
  • Collect, report, and document data related to patient needs and emergencies.
  • Provide assistance with cleanliness, grooming, rest, activity, nourishment, and distribution of medications.
  • Participate in the general health care of patients by assisting professional staff in maintaining a safe therapeutic environment.
  • Prioritize and organize work to complete assignments within specified timeframe.
  • Promote positive interpersonal relationships among co-workers and Security.

Requirements:

  • Current Texas Certified Medication Aide permit.
  • High school or GED equivalent.
  • Able to work under stress and be emotionally capable of coping with complex and/or changing activities.
