Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medication Aide to join our team at UTMB Health. As a Certified Medication Aide, you will play a critical role in providing technical support to our healthcare professionals and ensuring the safe administration of medications to patients.
Responsibilities:
- Distribute and document patients' medications from filled prescriptions, adhering to Title 40, Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 95.
- Maintain drug room security, replace facility working drug stocks, and ensure the upkeep of facility drug room and pharmaceutical equipment.
- Enter medication compliance into the pharmacy computer system.
- Collect, report, and document data related to patient needs and emergencies.
- Provide assistance with cleanliness, grooming, rest, activity, nourishment, and distribution of medications.
- Participate in the general health care of patients by assisting professional staff in maintaining a safe therapeutic environment.
- Prioritize and organize work to complete assignments within specified timeframe.
- Promote positive interpersonal relationships among co-workers and Security.
Requirements:
- Current Texas Certified Medication Aide permit.
- High school or GED equivalent.
- Able to work under stress and be emotionally capable of coping with complex and/or changing activities.
