Job Description:

The Adjunct Faculty, Medical Billing CTE-CE will teach Medical Billing and Coding courses at Lone Star College-Kingwood. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Medical Billing and Coding, excellent teaching skills, and the ability to create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material to real-world examples.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach Medical Billing and Coding courses at a variety of times and locations
  • Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material to real-world examples
  • Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner
  • Utilize a course syllabus and course plan for each course, following established institutional guidelines
  • Meet with and advise students either before or after class by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods
  • Conduct formal and informal evaluations of students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform students in a timely manner of their progress
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required and respond to all LSC communications in a timely manner
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with three years of recent experience working in the field of Medical Billing and Coding or equivalent combination of industry and formal teaching experience
  • Current certification from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) such as CPA, CCS, CPC, or comparable certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ICD-10 Training
  • Current American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or comparable certification
Salary:

$53.82 per contact hour
