Fire Life Safety Director

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, offers a rewarding career as a Fire Life Safety Director. This part-time position is available in a corporate building in Midtown Manhattan. As a Fire Life Safety Director, you will be responsible for protecting life and property through the implementation of the building's fire safety plan. This includes managing the Fire Command Station and supervising the fire brigade, floor wardens, deputy floor wardens, and building evacuation supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all life safety systems and related equipment are fully functional.
- Supervise fire safety teams on each floor, including fire wardens, deputy fire wardens, and building evacuation team members.
- Conduct regular fire alarm drills and maintain a written log of critiques to identify potential or actual weaknesses in response time or life safety systems and related equipment.
- Provide clear direction, information, and assistance to clients, visitors, guests, vendors, and employees in a professional and courteous manner during emergency situations.
- Maintain surveillance and reporting of any suspicious persons or packages.
- Perform CPR/AED and basic first aid when required.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner.
- Frequent preparation of written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting may require computer skills.
- Licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test.
- Ability to display exceptional customer service and communication skills, remain flexible to ever-changing environments, and adapt well to different situations.
