Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at MedStar Health. As a key member of our imaging services team, you will be responsible for performing clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acquire and evaluate images for technical quality, sending them to appropriate destinations for interpretation and repeating as necessary.
  • Comprehend equipment and procedures for all specialists working within the facility, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Support the physician in patient examination, testing, and education, maintaining individual credentials for radiography and adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Manage patient flow, maintaining orderliness and cleanliness of work areas, and reporting any unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Monitor equipment functionality, reporting system problems promptly and performing routine maintenance tasks.
  • Perform multifunctional skills, including spirometry, patient vitals, and BMI, EKGs, vision and hearing testing, splinting, and general patient care under physician supervision.
  • Prepare written documentation, including evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, and progress reports, promoting an atmosphere of respect and professionalism.
  • Act as a patient advocate, assisting with discharge and ensuring clarity for patients and families.
  • Support other members of the clinic team during downtime and variable patient volume, providing telephone triage services and patient follow-up calls.
Requirements
  • Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
  • Radiology Technologist license in the State of Maryland.
  • CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) certification.
  • 2+ years of medical office experience, with experience working with electronic medical records preferred.
