Maintenance Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at First Quality Print & Packaging facility in Anderson, SC. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and adjusting all mechanical equipment, machinery, and components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed and proper safety equipment is used at all times.
  • Adhere to GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations.
  • Repair mechanical components of all equipment as required.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze mechanical and operational issues on all equipment and take corrective action to resolve these issues.
  • Operate machines to test maintenance, changeovers, adjustments, and repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication on all equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Perform preventive/predictive maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment and report findings promptly.
  • Share knowledge and techniques with team members and assist with training.
  • Attend training seminars provided by the company when applicable.
  • Complete all paperwork correctly and submit in a timely fashion.
Requirements:
  • Completion of all required maintenance training and assessments.
  • Standard mechanical knowledge of all machinery, equipment, and components.
  • Standard knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Standard knowledge of product specifications, quality specifications, goals, efficiency, scrap, and production.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to use all measuring tools, micrometers, vernier calipers, etc.
  • Ability to run the equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three years of industrial experience or equivalent required.
  • Technical or vocational school training relating to mechanics is preferred.
Work Environment:

Work in an environment with potential exposure to dust during certain tasks.

Work in an environment with potential exposure to marked changes in humidity.

Physical Requirements:
  • Walk/stand 100% of time during a 12-hour shift.
  • Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and squatting throughout shift.
  • Occasional climbing and reaching.
  • Occasional reaching overhead during shift.
  • Frequent pushing and pulling with arms and legs throughout shift.
  • Frequent lifting or carrying items/product.
  • Constant use of hands.
  • Constant light and firm grasping with hands throughout shift.
  • Operation of cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and roll manipulators throughout shift.
  • Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area.
  • Occasional climbing of steps.
  • Balance required for some tasks.
  • Maintains 5s housekeeping standards.
