Demolition Superintendent

We are seeking a highly skilled Demolition Superintendent to join our team at Veit & Company Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

• Manage daily site activities, including ensuring compliance with safety protocols, design specifications, and project schedules.
• Directly manage lead personnel and staff on each project site, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Communicate effectively with general superintendents, job site crews, and subcontractors to ensure project needs are met.
• Monitor and maintain a safe working environment, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
• Conduct daily job hazard awareness meetings, stretching exercises, and weekly toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance construction methods and safety knowledge.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records, including daily logs, equipment schedules, material schedules, and time cards.
• Manage field personnel in a fair and equitable manner, addressing performance issues promptly and supporting training opportunities.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings, project planning, and regular job site meetings to ensure project success.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation for reporting safety issues, equipment damage, and workplace injuries.
• Ensure all work meets specified quality standards, inspecting field work, materials, and manufacturer's literature and drawings.
• Respond to customer inquiries, regulatory agency requests, and business community concerns in a professional and timely manner.

• Five to ten years of experience in heavy industrial demolition.
• OSHA 30 hour, HAZWOPER certificate, Excavating Safety Training, Blueprint Training, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, reports, plans, specifications, and legal documents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel spreadsheets, iPad, and iPhone.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of management, employees, external vendors, and business associates.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• 25-75% travel within the Midwest region required.
