Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field operations on various civil engineering and surveying assignments, including topographic surveys, ALTA boundary surveys, Right of Way assessments, and As-built surveys.
- Maintain detailed notes, records, and sketches to accurately document work completed.
- Set and secure stakes at specified locations.
- Utilize and care for equipment such as tablet computers, digital cameras, survey-grade GPS units, and robotic total stations, along with other measuring instruments.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Perform staking calculations and prepare visual exhibits.
- Assist in mentoring and training junior staff members as needed.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a Professional Land Surveying License in the State of Iowa.
- A high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering plans and construction documents.
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Willingness to work predominantly in outdoor settings, approximately 95% of the time.
- Ability to endure extended periods of standing and traverse various terrains while carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Some travel may be necessary.
