Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Vocational Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care to juvenile patients in the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center and the Bexar County Secured Juvenile Corrections Treatment Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering care that meets or exceeds established standards, while supporting and adhering to University Health and Detention Health Care Services policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to juvenile patients in accordance with University Health and DHCS policies and standards.
  • Deliver medical care in accordance with TJJD standards.
  • Continuously monitor the condition and status of patients and deliver care that meets or exceeds established standards.
  • Support and adhere to University Health and Detention Health Care Services policies and procedures.
  • Promote excellent internal and external customer relations.
Requirements
  • Must possess a current license to practice Vocational Nursing in the State of Texas.
  • Must also maintain current CPR certification.
  • Experience in correctional health care, psychiatric nursing, or nursing in an emergency environment is preferred.
  • Prior knowledge or experience within the University Health's nursing services and/or certification as a Certified Correctional Health Care Provider (CCHP) is also preferred.
