Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Jewish Hospital, Neurosciences Intermediate. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care with compassion and excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate an exceptional patient care experience by ensuring and assisting patient flow within the office, attending to needs of patients, their families and medical staff.
  • Prepare patient for physician visit by documenting the patient's chief complaints, obtaining and documenting appropriate vital signs (height, weight, and temperature), as well as completing any necessary paperwork for the patient experience.
  • Perform clinical duties such as injections and immunizations, other forms of medication administration, breathing treatments, Pulmonary Function Testing, dressings, vision/hearing testing, suture removal, patient education, and assisting physician with procedures.
  • Perform laboratory testing such as specimen collection, finger sticks/heel sticks, performing tests, recordkeeping, and reporting.
  • Providing indirect patient care in the phone triage setting. Will work with the physicians about the patient's clinical condition and symptomatology.
  • Responsible for scheduling patient appointments when necessary.
  • Responsible for requesting patient prescription refills from the physician and ensuring eligibility.
  • Completing clinical miscellaneous items such as school/sports physical forms, immunization certificates, obtaining patients lab results, etc.
  • Check and maintain crash cart, AED on a rotating basis.
  • Provide excellent, clear documentation in every area of the office.
  • Work closely with physicians and residents to ensure patient and family needs are met.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or completion of nursing program over 18 months and up to 3 yrs. in duration, required.
  • Current Kentucky Nursing License, required.
  • 1 year of LPN medical office experience, preferred.
Certifications
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA), required.
Working Conditions

Working conditions are normal for a health care environment. Very mobile position, good portion of day will be spent walking, standing, reaching, and bending. Exposure to blood borne pathogens and respiratory conditions is possible in this position.
