Job Summary

Orlando Health is seeking a skilled Electrophysiology Tech to join our team at South Seminole Hospital. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention for cardiovascular procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and deliver appropriate patient care while recognizing patient conditions, age-specific needs, and ensuring successful completion of procedures and protocols.
  • Serve as a preceptor and/or charge, presenting educational lectures for the department and demonstrating knowledge and proficiency in the use of equipment and protocols.
  • Ensure patient understanding of procedures performed, provide patient and family education, and ensure patient needs, safety, and comfort are met while in the EP Lab.
  • Acquire patient clinical history, verify reports and records for completeness and accuracy, and archive demographic information to appropriate storage media.
  • Position patients, equipment, and associated devices, and manipulate technical factors to achieve high-quality images and signals for interpretation.
  • Assess processed images for technical quality and patient identification, ensuring all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Apply principles of radiation safety and protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Provide physiological and hemodynamic monitoring during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Support physicians as a scrub assistant for Electrophysiology Studies, Ablations, and Cardiac Implant Procedures.
  • Document patient care as related to a procedural area in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner, meeting all required and regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • A graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care, Radiological Technology, or Cardiovascular Technology.
  • Maintain current BLS and ACLS certification.
  • The following licensure or certification is required depending on the corresponding education:
  • CVT - Must have valid Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification or the Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Credential.
  • RRT - Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Licensed by the State of Florida (Department of Health).
  • CRT - Certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Licensed by the State of Florida (Department of Health).
  • Rad Tech - Valid Florida state license renewed every two years required. Valid American registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
Experience

One (1) year hospital experience in the EP Lab required. Must meet all job-related duty requirements and EP Lab department-specific competencies of an EP Tech I.
