New Story In-District Services (IDS) partners with local school districts to provide targeted support and professional development for teachers, case managers, and paraprofessionals. Our mission is to enhance special education services by providing BCBAs, Teachers, RBTs, and Paraprofessionals within schools. We are seeking a qualified Licensed Counselor to provide therapeutic support to students. The ideal candidate will help students prepare for academic achievement and develop personal or social competencies through a comprehensive, preventive, and developmental counseling program. The goal is to ensure that students become productive and well-adjusted.

The responsibilities of this position include:
  • Helping students and family gain insight and facilitating change with the students and family.
  • Supporting designated classroom students and teachers to implement strategies for student progress with the goal to integrate back into mainstream classrooms.
  • Collaborating and coordinating with parents and other agencies to increase quality of services.
  • Assisting in the collection of quality indicator data.
  • Providing group and individual therapy as indicated by student need.
  • Planning, scheduling, conducting, and providing guidance to others in social skills instruction.
  • Knowledgeable of principles of behavior change and providing guidance and feedback to classroom staff.
  • Ensuring completion of initial assessment within 30 days of student enrollment.
  • Coordinating tele-psychiatry as indicated by student need.
  • Supervising various staff within the school.

Rivermont Schools provides a therapeutic educational program for students ages 2-22 in early education through post-graduate studies with special needs, including those associated with autism spectrum disorder, behavioral challenges, and difficulty learning in a traditional school setting. We offer an academic learning environment integrated with behavior support services for students diagnosed with autism or emotional/behavioral disorders.
