Job Summary

The Bartender serves food and beverage to restaurant guests in a timely fashion, ensuring excellent service and guest satisfaction every time. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality service to all guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Know and live the mission and values of White Lodging, providing exceptional customer service and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Complete all necessary setup, side work, and closing duties as assigned, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Check the restaurant before, after, and during shifts for cleanliness and remove any debris, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for guests and staff.
  • Maintain high cleaning standards of the bar, performing daily cleaning and side work tasks.
  • Check bar glasses for cleanliness and ensure they are free from cracks, chips, and stains.
  • Be knowledgeable of all menu items, their ingredients, preparation methods, and garnishes, and be prepared to answer guest questions in a direct and concise manner.
  • Know daily features and specials, and use suggestive selling and upselling techniques to increase the check average.
  • Take guest orders correctly, read them back to the guest, and ring orders into the system accurately, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Check food presentation before serving, ensuring hot food is hot and fresh, and cold food is cold.
  • Check guest satisfaction with food quality within two bites, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Present checks correctly, free from errors, and in a timely manner, ensuring a positive dining experience.
  • Follow and comply with all White Lodging cash handling policies and end-of-shift paperwork procedures.
  • Follow all White Lodging policies and procedures, including work procedures and attendance.
  • Learn and maintain all information regarding the hotel, engaging in pre-shift briefings and staying up-to-date on hotel operations.
  • Promote teamwork and a friendly, safe work environment, ensuring a positive and productive team dynamic.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned, supporting the team and contributing to the success of the restaurant.
  • Follow all AL standards for uniform and appearance, maintaining a professional and polished image.
  • Be knowledgeable of all bar products and services, making recommendations and providing exceptional service to guests.
  • Make conversation with guests, creating a personal connection and ensuring a positive dining experience.
  • Ensure guests are not overserved beverages if intoxicated, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Be able to take out kegs, fetch new kegs, and hook up equipment, performing heavy lifting and moving tasks as needed.
