About the Role:

Maison Kayser is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bakery Apprentice to join our team. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining product displays, and operating a cash register.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up stock daily
  • Provide excellent customer service by following Maison Kayser standards and steps of service
  • Maintain product knowledge and answer guest questions
  • Anticipate daily inventory needs and work with the Head Baker to replenish product as needed
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the bakery, including shelving and storage drawers
  • Ensure mise-en-place is performed to the required standard
  • Inform a Manager of any guest complaints
  • Comply with all reasonable instructions from Supervisors and maintain the highest possible standards
  • Comply with and fully understand all NYC & Maison Kayser food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and presentation

Requirements:

  • Must have a 'can do' work ethic and the ability to handle a fast-paced environment

  • Passion for food and restaurant operations
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job function consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours)

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
